Langkawi cable car (Island)





LANGKAWI CABLE CAR

Langkawi Cable Car is one of the major attractions in Langkawi IslandKedahMalaysiathat truly an experience not to be missed by the visitors. Throughout the 20-minute ride, you will pass over jungle waterfalls and a thick carpet of rainforest. It provides an aerial link from near Burau Bay Resort at TelukBurau to the peak of GunungMachinchang, which is also the location of the Langkawi Sky Bridge. The total length is 2.2 km (1.4 mi) and it was officially opened in 2003.
Langkawi Cable Car is located just north of TelagaHarbour, PantaiKok, with the entrance within 'Oriental Village' which is theme shopping centre housing 30 individually designed buildings showcasing Malaysian and Oriental architecture. It is duty free shopping heaven where you can find specialty shops selling souvenirs and clothing. Approximate 40 minutes’ drive from Kuah town and 15 minutes’ drive from Langkawi International Airport, it is located just north of the Langkawi International Airport, on the north-western coast of the main island of Langkawi
Travelling at a steep incline of 42 degrees, over a distance of 2.2 kilometres from the base station to the two mountain-top stations, you will get used to the sensation of being airborne,the ride quickly turns into an amazing and exhilarating experience. At the top of Sky Bridge, it offers a breathtaking view of Langkawi. Completed in 2004, this suspended bridge is accessible from the Top Station gives visitors a unique spatial experience, and to bring them into otherwise unattainable locations, above virgin jungle with spectacular views.
Other attractions and activities available here are 2.5 Kilometers jungle trekking linking TelagaTujuh (Seven Wells) to the Middle and Top Stations, Mini Zoo to get closer with nature, Deer Farm, Reflexology for relaxing massage of the feet, Café, and Fun Portraits if you want having a self-portrait. The rate charge fotLangkawi Cable Car is MYR 15 for adults with a MyKad and MYR 5 for children (prices subject to change).

TRAVEL TIPS

Remember to wear comfortable shoes as it is quite a walk up to the hanging bridge. The cable car operates from 10am to 7pm, subject to weather conditions. The service may be halted during strong winds.

HOW TO GET  HERE
By Car or Taxi

Langkawi Cable Car is located on the southwest coast of the main island, just a 30-minute drive from Kuah Town and only 15 minutes from Langkawi International Airport. Your best bet is to either hire a car or a taxi for the day and explore the island at your own pace.
